SteelStash:

Hello, and welcome to lonely TTR PG the solo play

SteelStash:

and review TT RPG podcast.

SteelStash:

This week, we're going to be playing a weekend in the country, a murder mystery

SteelStash:

for one or more players by Lari Assmuth.

SteelStash:

Now weekend in the country is based off of the wretched and alone system.

SteelStash:

we played that with the wretched.

SteelStash:

So kind of excited for how this is gonna go.

SteelStash:

So starting off, we have a couple quotes at the beginning of the book.

SteelStash:

Nothing has such power to broaden the mind as the ability to investigate

SteelStash:

systematically and truly all that comes under the observation in life.

SteelStash:

By Marcus Auerelius.

SteelStash:

And from Agatha Christie, unless you're a good at guessing it's

SteelStash:

not much use being a detective.

SteelStash:

So some very apropos quotes to get you in the mind for a murder mystery.

SteelStash:

[silly suspense music].

SteelStash:

So before we get into this, I'd like to thank you all for

SteelStash:

listening to lonely TTR BG.

SteelStash:

Uh, at the end, if you like this, please go ahead and, give us a, like,

SteelStash:

give us a review, , on any of your favorite podcasting sites or on YouTube.

SteelStash:

And go ahead and drop us a follow.

SteelStash:

If you want to see more content, , we are doing this every week.

SteelStash:

This is kind of our thing.

SteelStash:

So the facts, as we know them, you are a renowned, private detective and stories

SteelStash:

of your exploits are widely shared , your sharp, observant, and likable.

SteelStash:

You move with equal ease in the finest soirees and in back alley

SteelStash:

pubs, you are a master of getting people to open up and talk to you.

SteelStash:

This weekend, you have been invited to the country house of Lord Adler,

SteelStash:

retired Colonel of the Imperial yeomanry Calvary to enjoy relaxed getaway with the

SteelStash:

Lord's family and a few close friends.

SteelStash:

Dinner passes pleasantly enough, but early in the morning, you

SteelStash:

were awakened by a maid's screams.

SteelStash:

Lord Adler has been found dead murdered in his own bedroom.

SteelStash:

So taking a look at this, we have a handful of suspects.

SteelStash:

We have lady Adler, the younger wife, lady Blakely, and amateur artists, then

SteelStash:

childhood friend of lady Adler, Lord Entwhistle, who is accompanied by his

SteelStash:

mother, the widow lady Entwhistle, , who's late husband served with Lord

SteelStash:

Adler until he was court-martialed and dishonorably discharged.

SteelStash:

And Mr.

SteelStash:

Cooper, Lord others valet a young man with ambitions beyond his station.

SteelStash:

[silly suspense music].

SteelStash:

So which one of these is the murderer and that is what we need to find out.

SteelStash:

And that is what we are going to find out.

SteelStash:

As soon as we set up the board.

SteelStash:

So first to start off, I'm just going to make sure that

SteelStash:

I have a list of my suspects.

SteelStash:

Now to play, we're going to need a standard deck of cards with

SteelStash:

no jokers, a six sided dice and preferably a tumbling block tower.

SteelStash:

I do not have a tumbling block tower, so we're going to use some variant

SteelStash:

rules, on that, , if we play as a solo game, , play with a journal, make an audio

SteelStash:

video, which is what we're are doing.

SteelStash:

Uh, welcome.

SteelStash:

And during the game, we're going to be investigating the other's country

SteelStash:

house, talking to guests, servants, and gathering clues about what happened.

SteelStash:

, and find out who the murderer is, , if we're playing with a block tower,

SteelStash:

it represents time running out.

SteelStash:

If the tower falls to murder or strikes again, killing

SteelStash:

one of the remaining suspects

SteelStash:

for safety, death, murder, suicide, jealousy, and sex are all themes

SteelStash:

that may be encountered in this game.

SteelStash:

, while the game is written in the same cozy crime genre as Agatha,

SteelStash:

Christie, or murder, she wrote it is still important that you're

SteelStash:

mindful of boundaries while playing.

SteelStash:

Take care of yourself.

SteelStash:

You come up against any topics that look a little too much for

SteelStash:

you, then go ahead and skip it.

SteelStash:

Move right along.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

So to set up the game, we need to pick out the four cards representing the suspects.

SteelStash:

And these are going to go on the table face up.

SteelStash:

Where are you going to shuffle the rest of the deck deal it into

SteelStash:

five different decks face down.

SteelStash:

, and those are going to represent the study, the bedrooms, the attic, the

SteelStash:

servant's quarter and the kitchen.

SteelStash:

, if we're using the tower set up the tower somewhere in your play area,

SteelStash:

you can play without the tower.

SteelStash:

In which point you ignore any rules for drawing or what happens.

SteelStash:

So since I don't have a tower, we don't have to worry about that.

SteelStash:

But if I did have a tower, if I was playing with a tower

SteelStash:

again, the tower falling means the murderer has struck again.

SteelStash:

So we have a lot of setup to do

SteelStash:

so first things first, we got to get rid of the jokers.

SteelStash:

We need the queen of spades for lady Blakely.

SteelStash:

For Lord Entwhistle.

SteelStash:

He is the king of diamonds.

SteelStash:

And we got the Jack of clubs for Mr.

SteelStash:

Cooper

SteelStash:

and now we are going to deal the deck into.

SteelStash:

Five piles face down.

SteelStash:

So now we have to label these.

SteelStash:

So we have these study.

SteelStash:

We have the study, we have the bedroom.

SteelStash:

We have the attic, the servants quarters,

SteelStash:

and the kitchen.

SteelStash:

So each turn of the game is going to represent some time collecting clues and

SteelStash:

interviewing suspects and eye witnesses.

SteelStash:

, during each turn, you will do the following.

SteelStash:

You're going to choose a location and draw a card.

SteelStash:

You're going to roll a D six and pull that many blocks from the tower.

SteelStash:

We're not going to be doing that.

SteelStash:

, then we're going to check the.

SteelStash:

, that we found in the clue journal and make a note of where we found it.

SteelStash:

And then we're going to decide whether we want to make an

SteelStash:

accusation or keep looking.

SteelStash:

So j'accuse or no hot new game.

SteelStash:

Oh shoot.

SteelStash:

The next section is called j'accuse

SteelStash:

so j'accuse, the goal of the game it's collect enough clues to build a waterproof

SteelStash:

case against one of the suspects.

SteelStash:

, you do this by collecting cards to build the best possible five card

SteelStash:

poker hand, and then making an accusation against one of the suspects.

SteelStash:

When you make an accusation, you must choose five cards from your

SteelStash:

hand and build a theory of what happened that utilizes all the

SteelStash:

clues that correspond to the cards.

SteelStash:

In the hand, that hand must contain at least one card to the same suit

SteelStash:

as the suspect card that you are accusing , if your hand wins, the

SteelStash:

suspect you accused was indeed guilty.

SteelStash:

Go on to denunment.

SteelStash:

If the suspect's hands wins.

SteelStash:

They turn out to have an ironclad, alibi, or other solid defense, , detail why

SteelStash:

they couldn't possibly be the killer and then turn the suspect card upside down.

SteelStash:

They can no longer be accused.

SteelStash:

Then continue to play as normal.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

And then looking at the rest of these, , we seem to have

SteelStash:

a lot of, , card description.

SteelStash:

So every card is going to have its own description.

SteelStash:

So hearts, are passion and love spades are going to represent misery and

SteelStash:

misfortune diamonds, money and fortune and clubs violence already like the

SteelStash:

theming actually picking theming that goes with the, , that goes with the suit.

SteelStash:

We need to remember this energy for the end, though.

SteelStash:

, at the end of the game, when one of the following things

SteelStash:

happen, the game comes to an end.

SteelStash:

. You make an accusation and your poker hand wins the defending hand, all

SteelStash:

suspects, but one have been turned face down either because they have been able

SteelStash:

to defend themselves, , while defending against the accusation or because they

SteelStash:

have been killed when the tower fallen.

SteelStash:

If you make an accusation and it is correct, you have found the

SteelStash:

killer, make sure you document all the clues in your hand.

SteelStash:

, when you confront the suspect, the, with these irrefutable

SteelStash:

facts, they cave and confess.

SteelStash:

You hand them over to the local police and congratulate yourself on another

SteelStash:

solved case if all suspects, but one have been discounted or murdered, the

SteelStash:

real killer has alluded your grasp.

SteelStash:

Describe how they managed to taunt you when you realize they have

SteelStash:

made good their escape, perhaps our paths will cross again.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

So let's go ahead and get started.

SteelStash:

So.

SteelStash:

Again, , we're going to go to a location.

SteelStash:

We're going to draw a card.

SteelStash:

And based on that card, we are going to attempt to build a

SteelStash:

theory of who killed Lord Adler.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

So let's go ahead and start in the study.

SteelStash:

After all Lord Adler there spent most of his time there.

SteelStash:

So.

SteelStash:

Let's go ahead and flip that over.

SteelStash:

And we got a club.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

So the eight of clubs represents a small, but lethal wound, easily

SteelStash:

missed on casual observations , so we definitely find the wound.

SteelStash:

, we found his body in the study and looking at it.

SteelStash:

We find the small wound, , seems to be hidden in the folds of his neck

SteelStash:

after all, you know, what happens to soldiers when they stopped being

SteelStash:

soldiers, they tend to get rather large.

SteelStash:

I say this as a soldier, getting large, I'm allowed to it's my people.

SteelStash:

, So based on that, we're going to go ahead and head to the bedroom and

SteelStash:

attempt to find something in the bedroom

SteelStash:

, that might give us a little more

SteelStash:

. Another club.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

This time, the queen, , when you arrived at the house, You recall,

SteelStash:

you saw Lord Adler's valet Mr.

SteelStash:

Cooper in a heated discussion with one of the other guests.

SteelStash:

Who was it?

SteelStash:

Well, I'm not sure yet.

SteelStash:

I do remember the discussion.

SteelStash:

I do remember the fight.

SteelStash:

Look like a fight.

SteelStash:

I didn't get a good look because Mr.

SteelStash:

Cooper was blocking them, but let's see what we find in the attic after

SteelStash:

all, we're starting to put some pieces together and the attic is going to be the

SteelStash:

ideal place to try and hide something.

SteelStash:

The ten of spades.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

So a second story window has been forced open from the outside.

SteelStash:

That is impressive.

SteelStash:

, they climbed up to force, open a window from the outside.

SteelStash:

Good for them.

SteelStash:

, with this in mind, let us see what these servants have to say about this and

SteelStash:

let's head to the servants quarters and what are the servants have to tell us?

SteelStash:

They have to tell us a tale of passion with a heart, the seven of hearts, and

SteelStash:

that passion argument overheard through a wall, or though no words can be made out.

SteelStash:

, it seems like it was just outside the kitchen.

SteelStash:

And based on that location, this sounds like it would be

SteelStash:

in the right spot for the.

SteelStash:

arguement Mr.

SteelStash:

Cooper was having with his, , with his person.

SteelStash:

So let's head to the kitchen and see if we can find any clues in the kitchen as

SteelStash:

to what this argument was about or who Mr.

SteelStash:

Cooper, might've been arguing.

SteelStash:

The four of spades.

SteelStash:

So we have the silhouette of a person spotted prowling in the garden at night.

SteelStash:

so based on this, all right.

SteelStash:

Based on this.

SteelStash:

We have ourselves an argument occurring outside between Mr.

SteelStash:

Cooper and somebody else, a mysterious figure, prowling the

SteelStash:

grounds at night, climbing up to the second floor, forcing open a window

SteelStash:

in order to deal a small wound.

SteelStash:

, so with hearts, clubs and spades, I can accuse lady Adler, lady Blakely, or Mr.

SteelStash:

Cooper.

SteelStash:

Now

SteelStash:

I don't like my hand.

SteelStash:

I only have a queen high.

SteelStash:

Remember the whole point is for a poker hand, but, but this is like stud rules.

SteelStash:

This isn't a.

SteelStash:

This isn't Texas Hold'em rules.

SteelStash:

So the math is all different.

SteelStash:

, queen high may not be that bad.

SteelStash:

, . Of course, with my luck, they are going to get themselves a low pair.

SteelStash:

However, we're going to find out right now, who should I accuse?

SteelStash:

Who should I accuse?

SteelStash:

Who was it?

SteelStash:

Who was proudly to ground?

SteelStash:

I am going to say that.

SteelStash:

, I remember the flash of red hair underneath a hat, the

SteelStash:

same red hair as lady Adler.

SteelStash:

, that lady Adler was the one who was arguing with Mr.

SteelStash:

Cooper.

SteelStash:

, very passionate argument, a very passionate argument.

SteelStash:

And.

SteelStash:

I seem to recall Mr.

SteelStash:

Cooper being angry at lady Adler, that she was not willing to run away with him.

SteelStash:

She wanted to maintain her marriage, even though she was

SteelStash:

married to a much older husband.

SteelStash:

So Mr.

SteelStash:

Cooper, Mr.

SteelStash:

Cooper, sir, you.

SteelStash:

were prowling around in the dark.

SteelStash:

You were the one who climbed up to the second story and it was you who

SteelStash:

opened that window into the study, sneaking up behind Lord Adler and

SteelStash:

stabbing him in the folds of his neck.

SteelStash:

Very crafty Mr.

SteelStash:

Cooper, but j'accuse!.

SteelStash:

So now we need to build Mr.

SteelStash:

Cooper's case.

SteelStash:

So we need to draw from every deck in order to,

SteelStash:

Build his case and.

SteelStash:

. I lost dammit.

SteelStash:

I didn't lose.

SteelStash:

It's just Mr.

SteelStash:

Cooper is not the suspect.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

He pulled himself the ACE of spades.

SteelStash:

, so looking at this, we have the ACE of spades, Jack of spades nine and

SteelStash:

three of diamonds and nine of clubs.

SteelStash:

ACE of spades lady Blakely tries to warn you off the case, implying she can

SteelStash:

make your life difficult if you don't.

SteelStash:

, so lately, , lady Blakely is the one who's involved here, , as well as lady

SteelStash:

Blakley's chauffer Anthony confides that his employer can be difficult.

SteelStash:

He tells you an anecdote of when she fired her previous chauffeur for petty reasons.

SteelStash:

, we combine that with the nine and three of diamonds, which is a ledger with

SteelStash:

suspicious recurring, some paid out every month when unfamiliar name and a

SteelStash:

small hidden tin box containing cocaine, [silly suspense music], and the nine

SteelStash:

of clubs a blow delivered in anger.

SteelStash:

This is Mr.

SteelStash:

Cooper's defense.

SteelStash:

Mr.

SteelStash:

Cooper was trying to warn lady Adler of lady Blakely, her friend.

SteelStash:

. He was trying to war, lady Adler.

SteelStash:

That's what the argument was for.

SteelStash:

, that Lord Adler seem to be in some type of dealing with lady Adler, , that Mr.

SteelStash:

Cooper had found a small tin of cocaine and that he had discovered some.

SteelStash:

Unknown payments.

SteelStash:

It seems that, , Lord Adler had a little bit of a habit.

SteelStash:

, he needed that nose candy.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

He was into those fine white ladies.

SteelStash:

And I mean, the cocaine on that.

SteelStash:

, and unfortunately what we assumed, what we assumed was a small wound to conceal,

SteelStash:

, it appears to be more of an angry blow.

SteelStash:

So upon further evaluation, It would not have even been Mr.

SteelStash:

Cooper , , because our theory was around Mr.

SteelStash:

Cooper being delicate, and this was not a delicate below.

SteelStash:

So unfortunately all these cards are going to go to

SteelStash:

the discard pile.

SteelStash:

, . And Mr.

SteelStash:

Cooper, congratulations.

SteelStash:

You are not the murderer.

SteelStash:

We're going to flip his card over.

SteelStash:

. We will have to continue on.

SteelStash:

We will have to find out who the murderer is.

SteelStash:

We will have to find the new one, not the new one, the, the correct suspect,

SteelStash:

. So we're going to return to the study.

SteelStash:

We're going to return to the scene of.

SteelStash:

The crime.

SteelStash:

Ooh.

SteelStash:

And we are you going to get ourselves the king of hearts?

SteelStash:

So I'm going to go ahead and take that king of hearts, and I'm going

SteelStash:

to replace that four of spades.

SteelStash:

So the king of hearts, what does the king of hearts tell us?

SteelStash:

, I found it a little strange that Lord Adler would invite me for the weekend.

SteelStash:

I didn't really know him that well, but now I do remember something

SteelStash:

at the bottom of my invitation.

SteelStash:

He had written a personal greeting.

SteelStash:

It seems that Lord Adler was nervous and concerned for his

SteelStash:

safety, especially surrounding

SteelStash:

these mysterious, payments especially surrounding his habit.

SteelStash:

, apparently he was concerned for his safety and he was looking

SteelStash:

for someone to look out for him.

SteelStash:

Poor Lord Adler.

SteelStash:

You know what j'accuse!

SteelStash:

j'accuse, lady Blakely, who seems to have a temper about her firing her

SteelStash:

chauffeur that we learned from Mr.

SteelStash:

Cooper, , who based on Mr.

SteelStash:

Cooper's alibi lady Blakely seems to have the most likely of motive and.

SteelStash:

, most likely of opportunity.

SteelStash:

, now lady Blakeley, obviously wasn't

SteelStash:

, the Prowler turned out to be nobody.

SteelStash:

It turned out to be Mr.

SteelStash:

Cooper, attempting to find out what was going on.

SteelStash:

In order to find this drop, but we know it.

SteelStash:

Wasn't Mr.

SteelStash:

Cooper.

SteelStash:

So lady Blakely, what is your alibi?

SteelStash:

Not as good.

SteelStash:

Not good.

SteelStash:

Not good enough.

SteelStash:

Not good.

SteelStash:

enough ah,

SteelStash:

I really need to play to a pair or something.

SteelStash:

, there's a reason why I stopped playing poker.

SteelStash:

All right.

SteelStash:

So lady Blakely got herself, a pair, a small pair, but she has a pair.

SteelStash:

And that's all that she needs.

SteelStash:

So, , we got the Jack of diamonds, two spade, seven of spades,

SteelStash:

two of hearts, three of hearts.

SteelStash:

So for the Jack of diamonds, , the maid delivers a sealed envelope

SteelStash:

container to generate sum money.

SteelStash:

, along with a note from Lord Adler, if you'd gotten this,

SteelStash:

it means I've met my demise.

SteelStash:

I hope it will cover expenses to find the culprit.

SteelStash:

So we were correct.

SteelStash:

Adler was concerned about his safety.

SteelStash:

He had already made plans and provisions.

SteelStash:

I don't know how that helps in lady Blakely's case.

SteelStash:

Let's see what the spades give her a rumor of betrayal and a

SteelStash:

series of badly veiled insults.

SteelStash:

Hm.

SteelStash:

So a rumor of betrayal.

SteelStash:

A series of insult.

SteelStash:

Ooh,

SteelStash:

lady Blakely was there for her friend, lady Adler.

SteelStash:

There were rumors that Lord Adler was stepping out.

SteelStash:

A lady Blakely was not the one involved with the cocaine and the payments.

SteelStash:

, it seems that Lord Adler's, , appetites ran a large, according to rumors

SteelStash:

and that those appetites included more than just the cocaine, but also

SteelStash:

maybe the others type of fine white lady, the fine white lady of the

SteelStash:

evening, and he just needed a little something to help stay awake for this.

SteelStash:

, accusations what's he didn't seem to

SteelStash:

make several remarks, , much to the distress of lady Adler and lady Blakely.

SteelStash:

, what else in hearts do we have two and three secret love letters and a

SteelStash:

stolen kiss scene from a distance?

SteelStash:

It seems that lady Blakely and lady Adler were

SteelStash:

closer than just friends as the two responded in the garden and their letters

SteelStash:

to each other found tragic that tragic that they couldn't remain together.

SteelStash:

But all of this points to lady Blakely as while certainly wanting

SteelStash:

Lord Adler dead.

SteelStash:

She is not the one responsible as she was seen running to the garden that

SteelStash:

night to go meet with her secret lover.

SteelStash:

The lady Adler.

SteelStash:

So lady Blakely, congratulations.

SteelStash:

You are no longer a suspect.

SteelStash:

I, I am doing really poorly at this now.

SteelStash:

since we've discovered some stuff.

SteelStash:

, let's head back down to the servants we've heard some nasty rumors.

SteelStash:

Let's see if their servants have any more information on these rumors.

SteelStash:

, Hm.

SteelStash:

So four of diamonds, four of diamonds.

SteelStash:

, we're gonna use that four of diamonds.

SteelStash:

We're going to cover up the seven of hearts.

SteelStash:

so we no longer have the impassioned argument overheard through a wall because

SteelStash:

we already determined that was Mr.

SteelStash:

Cooper and lady Adler.

SteelStash:

And we ruled Mr.

SteelStash:

Cooper out from being the culprit so we no longer need that card.

SteelStash:

, we are going to, once again, uncover the four of spades, the silhouette of

SteelStash:

a person's spotted prowling in the garden and nights, , was lady Blakely.

SteelStash:

The only one out.

SteelStash:

the four of diamonds, which we just drew is going to be an overheard rumor that

SteelStash:

one of the suspects is deep in debt.

SteelStash:

, , we're going to get rid of the eight of clubs and we're going

SteelStash:

to keep the king of hearts.

SteelStash:

So, , we no longer have any evidence of the wound.

SteelStash:

Which is fine, which is fine because we have someone who is deep in debt,

SteelStash:

deep in debt with dark silhouettes, prowling through the gardens,

SteelStash:

breaking into second story windows from the outside.

SteelStash:

And having arguments out in public and who else was in the argument with Mr.

SteelStash:

Cooper, but lady Adler, lady Adler j'acusse!

SteelStash:

J'acusse your husband, puts you into great debt.

SteelStash:

His infidelities and his rumors and his habits, his naughty habits.

SteelStash:

So Ms.

SteelStash:

Adler, may I call you Ms.

SteelStash:

Sadler now a widow Adler.

SteelStash:

So widow Adler, did you do it?

SteelStash:

Will my pair of fours hold up.

SteelStash:

, probably not.

SteelStash:

I have not held, it's a pair though.

SteelStash:

It's a pair.

SteelStash:

It going to be the first pair, right?

SteelStash:

, and of course she gets a pair of tens.

SteelStash:

Of course she gets a pair of tens.

SteelStash:

Uh, so lady Adler was not the, , was not the subject.

SteelStash:

So that is a 10 of hearts, 10 of diamonds.

SteelStash:

So, and so 10 of diamonds is a friendly card game that suddenly turns.

SteelStash:

10 of hearts is a woman's nightgown somewhere.

SteelStash:

It shouldn't be.

SteelStash:

So it would seem that after dinner that a lady Adler and lady Blakely were

SteelStash:

playing a friendly game of cards, when all the feelings and emotions came out.

SteelStash:

Yes, there was a prowling figure, but it always, the lady Blakely as

SteelStash:

she was going off to the garden to.

SteelStash:

Meet with lady Adler as evidenced by the nightgown found outside.

SteelStash:

Oh my goodness.

SteelStash:

Oh, my such scandal for this time period for the modern time.

SteelStash:

Hey you do you girl.

SteelStash:

Unfortunately, unfortunately with lady Adler and lady Blakely being together at

SteelStash:

the time of the murder, that means that we only have one suspect left and as I turn.

SteelStash:

To look at Lord Entwash, to find out why I find nothing but open air.

SteelStash:

He taunts me.

SteelStash:

He has gotten away curse you Lord.

SteelStash:

Entwash, it seems that Lord Entwash, uh correction Entwhistle,

SteelStash:

it seems that Lord Entwhistle.

SteelStash:

Has several side businesses for other type of whistles, wink, wink, wink,

SteelStash:

wink, nudge, nudge, know what I mean?

SteelStash:

And with these side businesses, he had ensnared Lord Adler into debt, a

SteelStash:

debt that Lord Adler could not pay.

SteelStash:

And when Lord Adler explained that he could not paid to the Lord Entwhistle

SteelStash:

the Lord Entwhistle, grew angry and.

SteelStash:

I attempted to merely teach Lord Adler a lesson.

SteelStash:

Unfortunately, Lord Adler at his advanced age did not survive.

SteelStash:

If only I had put these pieces together, if only I put

SteelStash:

these pieces together sooner,

SteelStash:

perhaps we might have caught him.

SteelStash:

Perhaps Lord Entwhistle might be behind bars right now.

SteelStash:

Unfortunately he has gotten away and.

SteelStash:

I am embarrassed, but these things happen.

SteelStash:

So that is a weekend in the country.

SteelStash:

So that is a weekend in the country.

SteelStash:

And I just have to say that.

SteelStash:

This was a cute game this was fun.

SteelStash:

I liked that.

SteelStash:

I liked that very Agatha Christie, very Hercules Peroit.

SteelStash:

, I definitely did have that.

SteelStash:

, definitely did have that murder.

SteelStash:

She wrote, feel to it.

SteelStash:

Like you can see all that influence in here.

SteelStash:

This was fun.

SteelStash:

Now, if you're gonna play with more people, , each turn, somebody like

SteelStash:

somebody else takes detective and they try to figure out what the clue might mean.

SteelStash:

, And you know, of course, relatively quick game, we played

SteelStash:

this in what about half hour?

SteelStash:

So fun game, quick game.

SteelStash:

Very cute.

SteelStash:

I really liked it.

SteelStash:

I did, , the various prompts and whatnot.

SteelStash:

They are good.

SteelStash:

Don't get me wrong.

SteelStash:

The problem is when you're coming up with 13 different prompts or

SteelStash:

13 different things, everything doesn't exactly gel together.

SteelStash:

Well, , especially when you end up with multiple suits.

SteelStash:

So when you're designing it, like you almost have to, like, you almost

SteelStash:

have to have every individual motive be its own standalone, but they have

SteelStash:

to work well with the other stuff.

SteelStash:

In case you end up with multiple.

SteelStash:

Hard to say that it did that.

SteelStash:

However, it did work overall.

SteelStash:

Like the game was still fun.

SteelStash:

Like it did work overall.

SteelStash:

It, it didn't take a lot of stretching to get all that stuff to work together.

SteelStash:

, it didn't take a lot and you definitely ended up with plenty of saucy situations

SteelStash:

in there as some of these cards came up.

SteelStash:

, You know, it's one of those, I

SteelStash:

end up in some type of, , I feel like lady Adler is always going to

SteelStash:

end up in some type of an affair.

SteelStash:

, you know, which is fine little cliche, but then again, like the cliche is

SteelStash:

part of the appeal for this game.

SteelStash:

This game.

SteelStash:

Yes, it has the cliches, but that's part of the attraction.

SteelStash:

That's part of why this was fun to play, you know, and the excitement of

SteelStash:

shouting out j'accuse!, as you get ready to, , as you get ready to make your case.

SteelStash:

So all in all great game, , highly recommend that you go check this out.

SteelStash:

, if you want to pick up your own copy, you can find it on.

SteelStash:

Itch.io again, that's a weekend in the country.

SteelStash:

, the website is Lari that's, L a R I dash a S S M U T

SteelStash:

h.itch.io/a week in the country.

SteelStash:

Dashes between all the words.

SteelStash:

, it is $5, , which is very on par for what I've seen for these games.

SteelStash:

, as I play more of these games, I realized that I am pricing myself way

SteelStash:

too low, but no, this is definitely worth, this is definitely worth $5.

SteelStash:

This is definitely worth the little bit of fun that you get to have with it.

SteelStash:

So if you enjoyed this, by all means, go pick up a weekend in the

SteelStash:

country and make sure that when you do you tell her that steel stash sent

SteelStash:

you a, we're trying to grow this.

SteelStash:

We're trying to get some word of mouth, , and let some of these, , let

SteelStash:

some of these indie creators know that someone is out here willing to

SteelStash:

play their games and spread the word.

SteelStash:

So go pick this up.

SteelStash:

Put on your thinking cap, head out to the country Manor and have yourself

SteelStash:

a good time, but watch out for them murderers they're everywhere.

SteelStash:

J'accuse!
